“Yes Sir! Mam! Or what ever it is you’d like to be called. Striking is the thing to do right now.”
Was going through my records here at the office deleting the ‘brilliant’ ideas that I had written down so that they not be found and used by some undesirables (ppl I desire not to open find it) when I came across this thing I had written around three years ago. Three years and a few months I think. Let me check. It says: Monday, June 30, 2003, 10:59:54 AM. I have come across it a lot in this period and maybe I did go through it but now I think I will put it here. I had written it for Post Platform but Bina didi had told me to rewrite it as it was a little too much colloquial. Well I had thought I had written a very funny and brilliant piece then. Looking at it now the basic theme IS kinda ‘brilliant’ and I sorta DID feel like laughing when I read it. In fact I think I did laugh a little. Not that it is that great a piece but oh how young I was then! And the language so young so immature.. hahaha…
Well most of it still IS kinda relevant. Imagine after three years. Expect the Korean Workers’ strike and maybe a few more…. Read on…. And tell me .. Has my writing and thinking and everything else changed? I’ll be waiting.
Boast Report
A galaxy far far away, some millennium
What’s the IN thing? What’s in the vogue? What IS the fashion? Ahem… fashion not just as cloths, appeals, blah blah and self decoration stuffs. Here in the fashion update, the talk today is on fashion as in an activity.
Guess! Guess! Guess? Anyone?
Nop? Hmmmm. What is most of the rest doing huh?
I’ll give you a hint in the form of a song, a famous one’s parody nearly.
The Students do it, the politicians always do it. Oh yea, the bus owners do it, even the South Korean train workers are doing it. Let’s do it. Let’ STRIKE.
Yes Sir! Mam! Or what ever it is you’d like to be called. Striking is the thing to do right now. (By the way, that’s not strike as in strike the guy or lady or whoever is next to you, but strike as in protest.. sit-ins, rally’s Chakka Jams, bandhas, etcetera etcetera, so on and so forth, and later on strike the one next to you, especially if he’s a cop, but that’s the side effect, geee.)
Don’t like your salary? Hate that boss who makes you work for every penny you get paid? How about that guy at the stadium or movie hall gate who insists that you procure a ticket to enter? And of course those people who are striking against you, if you think clearly, you’ll find that somebody is bound to be.
Well you do? Then strike. Get out of the room. Pens down. Take to the streets. The government, no matter which ever it be, is to blame for all.
So you really loath that new kid who seems to be working harder and more than you. He comes in on time and doesn’t have time to chat for hours in the office. He even knows those how to use that nuisance they call the computer. What? He had the nerve to offer to teach it to you, thinks you don’t know? Yea who needs to any way? He reads any thing he can get a hand on, regarding the new project? All of you fear he my take over your job and they may fire you calling you obsolete? Well then strike against the government for harboring these freaks. They should never have aloud those IT institutes to open. Importing foreign work technology was a form of shoshan. And teaching kids about foreign management systems which talk about changing, innovation, self-actualization crap, what a blunder. So strike!
Ok, you say you want to strike but don’t know on what to?
Come on, strike against the weather, strike that it didn’t rain when u carried an umbrella and it did when you left the rain coat at home. You slipped on a banana peel that you yourself threw on the road this morning? Strike against the Municipality. Its already been there for eight hours, why didn’t they remove it?
You are driving at 30 in the centre of the road and the droves of vehicles behind you are honking on their horns telling you to give them way? Oh look that smart-aleck is trying to over take you, block the road. You paid the road tax when they changed the license plate numbers didn’t you? This is your road to, so you can drive on whichever part of the road you want. To hell with the traffic jam behind you. The government should do something about them. They haven’t, so stop that bike and park it there and now. It’s Chakka Jam, who says you need to have a gang to do so?
You see, you can strike on any thing and everything, the counselor at the embassy refused you, she thinks you don’t have an intention of going there to study and you ain’t gonna come back? The government should do something when colonists like that call its citizens liars. So strike.
So you say you are satisfied by everything, either you are lying or you are at the peak of your career, with no challenges ahead, you are going down baby cuz the only way now is down.
Come on strike. It’s the government’s fault that you are so perfect.
And do it fast. This one, like any other fashion and fad, won’t last for too long. With the hot summer breathing out its last stale and hot breaths giving way to the continuous tap tap tap tap-dancing rain, rumors have it that the rural populace is going home to their fields and what is the charm of a rally if you are drenched. That’s pure hardship. So strike fast. O yea they’ll the fad’ll be back again and again and again and as I said before there will always be a reason, no such word as the striker’s reason being stupid or illogical in the strike book.
But be advised!
Strike or be left out and struck!!!!!

i hate strikes in nepal. Its like .. whenever i have got something impt to do or somewhere impt to go, right on my way, dozens of cabs/buses/people are blocking the way and i end up getting stuck in the middle, no where to go.
Can’t these strikers just strike outside the damn “persons” house whom they are angry with, or if they arent happy with the goverment, then go n shout as much as u want at the king’s palace or the goverment’s building, why make an idiotic fuss in the middle of the road.
All these just delays other people’s time, people who have impt Work to do. OMG. I think that all these striker’s brain is filled with full of their S*hit. Cant they be a little considerate?
And i’ve realised a few things, most of the people just join in the strikes even though they dun knw what is going on. one just commands out to the others what to do and everyone just follows blindly. doesnt these people have brains of their own ? Cant they see that what they’re doing is actually wrong?
Ppl in nepal, haiz, please wake up!!
I hate all these strikers.
